In this role, you will develop data collection program policies, standards, and systems for complete and accurate recordkeeping and reporting by enforcement personnel, as well as school vehicle inspection activities. Your duties will include the following:
- Developing and submitting the Commonwealth’s size and weight enforcement plan and size and weight certification to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)
- Maintaining a database of all size and weight certified enforcement officers throughout the Commonwealth, including their certification status
- Acting as a liaison with municipal officers regarding their enforcement activities
- Reviewing legislative proposals and changes to determine the impact on size and weight activities and funding levels from the FHWA
- Developing and implementing size and weight training programs to municipal and state law enforcement officers throughout the Commonwealth

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment (40-hour work week)
- Work hours include rotating shifts and days off, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: This position does not offer telework.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience as a Motor Carrier Enforcement Officer; or
- Two years of experience inspecting motor carrier vehicles and operators for compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations; and an associate’s degree or 60 semester credit hours from an institution of higher education; or
- Four years of experience inspecting motor carrier vehicles and operators for compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations; and a high school diploma or equivalency.
Additional Requirements:
- You must possess a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.
- You must obtain active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) Certificate issued by the Pennsylvania State Police within the probationary period and maintain the same for the duration of employment in this job.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass criminal history and background investigations.
- This job title has been identified as performing critical duties. Prior to placement in this job title, the selected candidate regardless of their current job, must submit a report of medications for screening by the state police medical officer.
