Position Summary: The Department of Biomedical and Health Sciences at Calumet College of St. Joseph (CCSJ) is accepting applications for a non-tenure track, full-time academic position in Kinesiology, starting in January, 2025, at the rank of Instructor. The Instructor is expected to teach lecture and laboratory based undergraduate courses, such as Introduction to Kinesiology, Exercise/Sport Psychology, Motor Development, Biomechanics, Kinesiology, and Exercise Physiology, among others. Additionally, the successful candidate will serve on institutional committee(s), attend departmental meetings, maintain professional skills through professional development, and perform other duties as assigned.

Department of Biomedical and Health Sciences. The Department offers degrees in Kinesiology, Biomedical Science, Forensic Biotechnology, Life Science and Medical Laboratory Science. The Department also has a record of preparing students for pre-medical and graduate school and graduate degrees in Kinesiology, Athletic Training, Physical/Occupational Therapy, Chiropractic, and Exercise Physiology. A successful candidate will have a science degree in Kinesiology or a closely related field such as Exercise and Sport Science. Following the mission of the college to provide quality instruction and services to our underserved population of students, the successful candidate will ensure meaningful assessment of student achievement, facilitate early identification of at-risk students, and be available to support student learning as needed

Required Qualifications/Experience:

· Master’s degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or another related field.

· Work experience in fitness, strength & conditioning, exercise physiology, and/or related fields.

· The ability/willingness to teach a variety of Kinesiology and Exercise & Sport Science courses.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

· Doctorate in related field strongly preferred

· Experience teaching Kinesiology or related courses to diverse populations at the undergraduate college level.

· Ability/willingness to cultivate and develop key partnerships between CCSJ athletics and the Kinesiology and Exercise & Sport Science program.
