Job Description General Summary The main function is to provide direction and support to team members in their designated area in alignment with the Area and Event Managers direction in event day operations. Primarily focusing on meeting the needs of the client/venue, patrons; solving problems, focusing on safety, identifying needs and concerns from a customer service perspective. The Lead Supervisor position will require the supervisor to create effective working relationships and to communicate timely and effectively with multiple client groups.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities - Responsible for making sure team members provide exceptional customer service
- Ensure the team members are given direction and given breaks.
- Responsible for overseeing proper deployment of their staff.
- Provide event day trainings for all door staff.
- Organizing all operational goals with all door supervisors.
- Provide on the spot training, mentoring and coaching of team members.
- Responsible for making sure team members have an understanding of the venue so that they can direct guests appropriately.
- Must be able to effectively communicate via radio to command, management and other employees.
- Establish a good working relationship with venue employees, law enforcement and medical personnel.
- Maintain compliance with all Argus company policies and procedures.
- Resolve guest related issues, needs and concerns as they arise
- Cultivate safety as a forethought for all team members.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
- Train new hires.
- Monitor patron entry and exit for quality of work.
- Monitor supervisor documents. I.E. Break sheets and post event reports.
- Hold de-briefs with door supervisors.
- Cultivate a culture of kudos and positive coaching.
Experience and Skills Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required - Demonstrate positive leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills to aid in training new employees.
- Must be willing to take direction and lead by example.
- Critical thinking skills
- Team Player; connects and works well with others.
- Must be personable and proactive in providing assistance to guests with the highest level of customer service
- Willingness to make an annual commitment to scheduled events.
- Ability to handle high pressure situations
- Must have proper radio etiquette
- Must have taken Verbal De-Escalation
- Must have graduated from Supervisor Development Program and hold a current guard card or receive a referral by a manager to join the Supervisor Development program.
- Must have been employed by Argus for at least 2 years.
Physical Demands of the Job Must be able to move in a quick, energetic manner. Long periods of standing and constant movement around the event area are expected on event days. Must be able to handle extreme heat and cold, along with rain and snow.
Psychological Demands Moderately stressful with constantly changing demands and imposing deadlines. Must be able to give and take direction from different teammates in a professional manner. Employees in this role will constantly be in leadership role; this requires directing others either verbally or in writing to complete tasks in prescribed time frame. This position also requires constant use of interpersonal skills including: ability to direct/motivate/inform staff and foster collaboration, being able to recognize and resolve conflicts, being able to openly communicate in writing and verbally with clients.
Working Conditions The essential functions of this position are performed indoors. The noise level in the work environment can range from minimal to loud during events, depending on the incumbent's location, and minimal during non-event times. Fast paced environment at venue during event days. Longer hours/days are necessary. Frequently required to work, evenings, weekends and holidays as scheduled.
